Habit ships three customer-facing pieces. Enable each one in the theme or customer accounts editor. None of them require editing theme code.

Loyalty points widget

This is a theme app block (not an app embed). Add it to a section on product, home, or other templates.
1

Open the theme editor

In Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Themes and click Customize.
2

Add the block

Add an app block and choose Loyalty points. Place it where signed-in customers should see their balance, tier, and referral code.
3

Save

Save the theme. Guests see a login prompt instead of a balance.

Redeem in the cart

Cart drawers are not theme sections, so redeeming from the cart uses an app embed.
1

Open app embeds

In the theme editor, open App embeds.
2

Enable Redeem points in cart

Turn on Redeem points in cart. This injects the redeem widget next to the cart drawer or cart-page checkout button.
3

Save

Save the theme. Signed-in customers with enough points can apply a discount before checkout. This path works on all Shopify plans.
You can also add the Redeem points theme block on the cart page if you want the widget in a specific section instead of (or as well as) the embed.

Customer account rewards

The account-rewards block shows balance, history, tier progress, and referral codes on the customer account profile. It targets the customer account profile. After install, confirm it is visible in Checkout → Customer accounts (or the customer account editor for your theme). Signed-in customers can request a referral code there.

Checkout redemption

The checkout UI extension lets customers apply points and a referral code during Shopify checkout. Shopify only runs checkout UI extensions on Shopify Plus. On every plan, customers can still redeem from the cart as described above. At checkout, Habit applies the discount through a Shopify Function. If both a cart attribute and a checkout metafield are set, the checkout metafield wins. See checkout redemption for the customer flow and troubleshooting.
